The height of a right cylinder is 2.5 times its radius. If the surface area of the cylinder is $112\pi\text{ cm}^2$,  what is the radius of the cylinder in centimeters?

SUrface are of a cylinder  ( not counting the ends)  pi * d    * h        and    h = 2.5 r

area = 112 pi  cm^2

112 pi =  pi   d    2.5 r         remember  d = 2r

112 pi = pi  2 r    2.5 r        divide both sides by pi

112 = 4.5 r                         now solve for 'r'
