The air temperature is -15 degrees Celsius at sunrise and rises 5 degrees Celsius every hour for several hours. The air temperature for x hours are represented by the function f(x)=5x-15. Find the x-intercept and the y-intercept.
f(x) = 5x-15 → y = 5x-15
y intercept....let x = 0 → y = 5(0) - 15 → y = - 15
x intercept....let y = 0 → 0 = 5x - 15
add 15 to both sides → 15 = 5x
divide both sides by 5 → 3 = x
