Ken and Joan had an equal number of stickers. Ken lost 36 of his stickers while Joan bought 65 stickers. In the end, Joan had twice as many stickers as Ken. How many stickers did they each have at first?

Joan = x+65
x+65=2(x-36)
x+65=2x-72
137=x
