The names promotes of all the white keys on a piano are written on pieces of paper and placed in a cup. There are 7 sets of the notes d,e,f,and hand 8 sets of the notes a,b and c if a person draws one note out of the cup without looking what are his or her chances of getting a c

If we assume there are 8 pieces of paper with an 'a' on them, 8 pieces with a 'b', 8 pieces with a 'c' and 7 pieces with a 'd', 7 with an 'e', 7 with an 'f' and 7 with a 'g', then there are 3*8 + 4*7 = 52 pieces of paper in total, 8 of which have a 'c'.  The probability of drawing a piece with a 'c' on it is therefore 8/52 = 2/13 ≈ 0.154
