what shape is the graph of a quadratic equation in the form y=ax2+bx + c?
It is a parabola opening upward [ "U" shaped, roughly ]
A little further clarification:;; If 'a' is positive it shaped like a bowl....if 'a' is negative it is shaped like a dome.

You are correct....the width is determined by "a"....so "U-shaped" might not be exact
so what exactly is the answer?
