you use these formulas : sin(x)=opposite side of a triangle over the hypotenuse  cos(x)= adjacent over hypotenuse tan(x)= opposite side over adjacent  the hypotenuse is the longest side of the triangle the adjacent is the smallest and the other side is the opposite.
