What I copied and pasted below is an answer that I put to help someone else out, almost a year ago, so I'm sorry if it's not that well said :P
I am just going to assume that you don't know how to multiply, divide, add, and subtract with fractions?
Multiplying Fractions
Just multiply across example :
1/2 x 3/4
3/8
Dividing Fractions
To divide fractions you use the recipricle (switch the fraction around) and multiply example :
2/3 divided by 1/3
2/3 x 3/1
6/3
2
Adding Fractions
To add fractions you want to make sure the fractions you're adding all have the same denominator example :
1/2 + 1/4
Multiply 1/2 by 2, to get the same denominator as 1/4
2/4 + 1/4
3/4
Subtracting Fractions
To subtract fractions you want to make sure the fractions all have the same denominators (like adding) also, if you're subtracting mixed numbers, when you borrow make sure to not add 10 the the numerator, but add the denominator instead (make sense?) example :
4 1/2 - 2 3/2
3 3/2 - 2 3/2
1
Hope this helps! :)
