how do i calculate x^5 = 200? i have tried to do it with a simple second degree soultion :

x^5 = 200

div both sides with 5 

x^2 = 40

and then i did the square root and got +- 6.32

however the teacher said i was wrong. Am i?

x^5 = 200

We need to take the fifth root of both sides (not divide by 5...)

Doing this, we have

x =  5√200 = about 2.885
