how do I divide mixed numbers

change them into improper fractions then use the fomula keepchange flip. 

example: 2 1/3 divided by 1 2/7

2 1/3= 7/3 

1 2/7= 9/7

keep 7/3 change the division into multiplication and flip 9/7 to 7/9

Then this equation gives you the improper fraction 49/27 

Now, you have to divide these two numbers to get you final mixed number answer....
