How do I do two-step inequalities

Like 2x+6> 4x

Please Help!

2x+6>4x 

6>2x (Subtract the smallest variable)

3>x (Divide by two)

The only time you switch the sign is when you divide by a negative number. Once you eliminate on variable from one side, then it should be relatively simple, like something you had previously learned.

6 > 2x           Divide both sides by 2

3 > x     or    x< 3
