You probably want to know how to calculate  height BH (see image).

 To calculate the height (BH) you need one side and an angle .

 

Exemple(1):   BC = 4      (gamma) ɣ = 36.9o

                 sin(ɣ) = BH/BC

                 BH = 4 * sin36.9o

                 BH = 2.4

 

Exemple(2):   AC = 5       (alpha) α = 53.1o

       In this case, you need to find the side AB first than to calculate the height.

                 AB = 5 * cos53.1o

                 AB = 3

                 BH = AB * sin(α)

                 BH = 3 * sin53.1o

                 BH = 2.4
