how do i get another point when graphing a quadratic after the vertex and y intercept?

I'd pick the point that was symmetrially opposite the y intercept.

For example:

If

Vertex (3,1)

y interecept   7    (0,7)

other point would be  (6,7)

Just pick another value of x and insert it into the equation. Solve for y.
