How do i get x by itself in this equation? -2x+13+4x=12 is the answer: x= -2?
No...I don't think -2 will work....let's see
-2x+13+4x=12 simplify on the left
2x + 13 = 12 subtract 13 from both sides
2x = -1 divide by 2 on both sides
x = -1/2
