just type it in or do (1/2) remember put it in ( ) or it wont work if you do it like above then it will divide 1/2 as if it were a division problem instead of a fraction. So type it like so $${\mathtt{6}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}\left({\frac{{\mathtt{1}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}}\right)$$
