 4x - 6y= -12      we want the final form of y  = mx + b   where m is the slope .....so, first....   subtract  4x from both sides

-6y  =  - 4x   - 12         divide both sides by -6

y = (-4/-6)x  -  [12/ -6]

y = (2/3)x  -  [-2 ]

y  =(-2/3)x  + 2         the slope   = m =    (-2/3)
