Consider the fraction \({1 \over \sqrt{8}}\)

Depending on the course you're taking you can leave the radical in the denominator, or you rationalize the fraction by multiplying the numerator and denominator by \(\sqrt{8}\)

to get \({1 \over \sqrt{8}}*{\sqrt{8} \over \sqrt{8}} = {\sqrt{8}\over 8}\)
