How do you do fractions?

I am just going to assume that you dont know how to multiply, divide, add, and subtract with fractions?

 

Multiplying Fractions

Just multiply across, example :

1/2 x 3/4

3/8

 

Dividing Fractions

To divide fractions you use the recipricle (switch the fraction around) and multiply, example :

2/3 divided by 1/3

2/3 x 3/1

6/3

2

 

Adding Fractions

To add fractions you want to make sure the fractions you're adding all have the same denominator, example :

1/2 + 1/4

Multiply 1/2 by 2, to get the same denominator as 1/4

2/4 + 1/4

3/4

 

Subtracting Fractions

To subtract fractions you want to make sure the fractions all have the same denominators (like adding) also, if youre subtracting mixed numbers, when you borrow make sure to not add 10 the the numerator, but add the denominator instead (make sense?), example :

4 1/2 - 2 3/2

3 3/2 - 2 3/2
