You get the item from which you want to know the volume, and you get a measuring container. You let the object go in to the water, the volume is the same as the moved water. Par example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3ia4i-uFTM . I don't know if this is the same as Melody posted, but this works.

You fill it up with water using measuring containers and see how many ml it holds.

(my container is water proof)

1ml =1cm3

There you go - that is one way.

Good answer anonymous.  It is sort of the opposite of what i said but you still need a totally solid container or a water tight container.

With mine the water goes on the inside.

With yours the water goes around the outside (it is immersed in water.)

So if it was done completely accurately my answer would be a little less than yours because mine is the inside volume.  Yours includes the actual container as well.

Your answer is a little bit better than my answer.

Why don't you become a member anonymous.  We need more answers like your one and it would be good to know who posts them.

Joining up has been simplified - it is really easy now!
