How do you figure out the exponent of a number using another equivalent number? (For example 4^3 = 2^x)

$$\\4^3=2^x\\\\
(2^2)^3=2^x\\\\
2^6=2^x\\\\so\;\; x=6$$

this was an easy one - if the question is harder then you will need to use logarithms.

you first convert 4^3 to 64 then convert 64 to 2^6 now your bases are the same so x=6
