how do you find the missing side of a right triangle?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Call in Sherlock Holmes??

OK.......seriously, it depends upon which side is "missing."

If we know the two "legs,"  we need to find the side opposite the right angle (the hypoteneuse).

So, we just "square" both legs, add the squares together, and take the square root of that sum.............√(L12 + L22)

If we know one leg and the hypoteneuse, we need to find the other leg.

So, we just square the known leg, square the hypoteneuse, subtract the first from the second, and take the square root of this difference.....√(H2 - L2)

That's it......
