How do you find the square root of a negative integer?

You would multiply the square root of the positive integer by the variable i, as in imaginary numbers. For example, the square root of -4 would be 2i. To do this, just find the square root of the positive version, then multiply that by i. The square root of 5 is 2.23, making the square root of -5 simply 2.23i.
