How do you Multiply fractions with whole numbers?

Example....

(5 +3/4) * (6 + 1/2)

Convert both to improper fractions....

(23/4) * ( 13/2)  .......cancel...if you can  ......(we can't here)

So we have

299 / 8

You could convert this to a mixed number.....if you wanted to.....
