How do you put a quadratic into vertex form when you have an a value?

\(y=ax^2+bx+c\\ y-c=ax^2+bx\\ y-c=a(x^2+\frac{b}{a}x+(\frac{b}{2a})^2)-a(\frac{b}{2a})^2\\ y-c+a(\frac{b}{2a})^2=a(x^2+\frac{bx}{a}+(\frac{b}{2a})^2)\\ y-c+(\frac{b^2}{4a})=a(x+\frac{b}{2a})^2\\ \frac{1}{a}\left(y+(\frac{b^2}{4a}-c)\right)=(x+\frac{b}{2a})^2\\ (x+\frac{b}{2a})^2=\frac{1}{a}\left(y+(\frac{b^2}{4a}-c)\right)\\ \text{So the vertex is} \left( \frac{-b}{2a},(c-\frac{b^2}{2a}) \right) \)
