Multiply the number times the number:

     2.0 x 1.7  =  3.4

Multiply the power times the power:

(10^33) x (10^-24)  =  10^9                         (When multiplying numbers that have the same base,                                                                                      add the exponents.)

Answer:     3.4 x 10^9
