how do you solve the first finding an equivalent equation without fractions?   5x divide by 3 plus 15 divide by 2 = 5 divide by 2

(5x)/3 + 15/2  = 5/2

Well....we could multiply through by a common denominator...but here's something easier...just subtract the 15/2 from both sides...we get

(5x)/3 = 5/2 - 15/2

(5x)/3 = -10/2

(5x)/3 = -5   Now multiply both sides by 3

5x = -15       Divide by 5

x = -3
