How do you solve the square root of 3x (times) the sq. root of 6y?

I don't understand what you mean but let me give you some help on how you can write this down properly.

Click on the box 'LaTex Formula', write down \sqrt{} for the sq. root and put everything within the square root between the brackets. Wait for the thing to load and you'll have a brilliantly looking sq. root

(oh and use * for times)
