Scientific notations is basically a way to reduce the amount of figures in a large number to make it more managable.
The formula for a scientific notation is X*10^Y, where X is a number between 1 and 10 and Y corresponds to the amount of digits in the number minus 1. So if a number has 7 digits total it would be written as X*10^6
If we, for example, have a fairly large number like 3 450 000 we can write that in scientific notation as: 3,45*10^6
