Hi Feitan,

Welcome to the forum!

You got a mention in my wrap last night.

First, we need to convert this to moles. Sulfur's molar mass is 32.06. For this, I'll also assume that the mass is an exact number (see here)

2 g S / 32.06 g/mol = 0.0623830318 mol S

Now we just multiply with the Avogadro's Number.

0.0623830318 mol S * 6.022*10^23 mol^-1 = 3.756706176*10^22 atoms S

Since we used an exact number, the answer can use any number of significant figures.

Hey Feitan,

Nice answer!

I haven't seen you before on the forum are you new here?

I was just wondering about the part of the signifant numbers...

Isn't it true that since 2g has only 1 significant number the final answer should also have only 1 significant number?

Hey Reinout!

Yeah, I joined yesterday actually. Thanks!

Ah, I didn't think about that...That's true. So the answer would actually be 4*10^22 atoms S, I believe?

Thank you very much for correcting me! c:
