What its the term to calculate how many variations are possible with a set of numbers. for example: 3 numbers has 6 possible combinations.

Permutation: A set of objects in which position (or order) is
important=nPr=26P3 =15,600

 

Combination: A set of objects in which position (or order) is NOT
important.=nCr=26C3 =2,600

Combination:     nCr  =  n! / [ (n - r)! · r! ]

 

If you assuming that only one number is chosen at a time, if there are  n  numbers, your answer will be  n!.
