Do foil: first outer inner last 

ex:

(5x + 3) (7x +2)

F: multipy the first two terms from both parentheses. (5x)(7x) = 35x²

O: multipy the two outer terms from both parentheses. (5x)(2) = 10x

I: multipy the inner terms "                                "   (3)(7x) = 27x

L: multiply the last terms "                               "    (3)(2) 6

35x²+ 10x + 27x + 6= 35x^{2 + 37x + 6}
