How to expand and simplify:(root3 + 1)(2+root3)?

(√3 + 1) /  (2 + √3)      multiply the numerator and denominator by the denominator's conjugate....so we have

(√3 + 1)(2 - √3)  / [ (2 + √3) (2 - √3) ]  =

(2 √3 - 1√3 + 2 - 3) / ( 4 - 3) =

(√3 - 1) / 1   =

(√3 - 1)
