How to solve 2(x+1/3) = 4 (x-1) = 7/3?

Step by step, please?

Summerkim....I think this is supposed to be:

 

2(x+1/3) = 4 (x-1)     distribute the 2 and 4 across the terms in the parentheses

 

2x + 2/3  =  4x  - 4        subtract 2x from both sides, add 4 to both sides

 

4 + 2/3 = 4x - 2x

 

14/3  = 2x     multiply both sides by (1/2)

 

(14/3) (1/2)  = (1/2)*2  x

 

14/6  = x   = 7/3
