5x - 5y = -20

We can divide through by 5, which gives us

x - y = -4

But what is y and what is x?

x = y - 4

y = 4 - x

If you want a specific solution, like a number, there is not just one solution, for example..

x = 1     and     y = 5

or....

x = 0     and     y = 4

or....

x = -10     and     y = -6

Pick any number for x, and you can find one for y that will make the equation true (and vice versa).

So, there are infinitely many solutions to this.

The graph of all these solutions will be a straight line that will look like this:

Hope that made some sense! :)
