The parabola has the equation y = ax^2 + bx + c.

Find a+b+c.

The  vertex  is  ( 2,1)

The x coordinate  of the  vertex is given by

-b/ [2a] = 2

-b= 4a

b = -4a

And another point on the parabola  is   (0, 5)    so  c  =  5

So   we can solve this

a (2)^2  + b (2)^2 + c  = 1

a(2)^2   - 4a (2)  + 5  =1

4a  -8a  + 5  =1

-4a  = -4

a = 1

And b = -4(1)  =- 4

So....the function is

x^2  - 4x  + 5

So

a + b +  c  =

1  - 4  +  5  =

2

Find a+b+c.

Hello Guest!

\(f(x) =y= (x-2)*(x-2)+1\\ y=x^2-4x+4+1\\ y=x^2-4x+5\\ \)

\(a=1\\ b=-4\\ c=5\\ a+b+c=2 \)
