 How to work out this problem? x³=x+2

I already figured out the answer is between 1.521 and 1.522 with a calculator, but how does one work out the answer? Any help would be greatly apreciated!

 

I want to know how to work out what number, when multiplied by itself 3 times, equals that same number plus 2.

 

x³ = x+2

x=1.52137970680457, This type of equation can only be solved through advanced methods. Another method is called "interpolation", which you will take in advanced math course. Also, graphing methods can be used to solve such equations........etc.
