how would you divide rational numbers if it was a fraction.

for example: (1/4) / (1/7)

The easiest way to do is to write down the 1st. fraction as it is:

So, (1/4) instead of divide it, use multiply and reverse the second fraction:

So, 1/4 X 7/1. Then multiply the 2 top numbers or 1 x 7=7. Then multiply the bottom 2 numbers or, 4 x 1=4

Then you put the first number, or 7 on top and the 2nd number or 4 on the bottom,

Thus: 7/4. And you re-write it as 1 3/4.
