Rules of indicies: A^N X A^M = A^N+M

Therefore x ^2/7 times x ^ 3/14 = x^1/2

Remember the exponent law that says  a^m * a^n  = a^(m + n)...so we have..

x^(2/7) * x^(3/14) = x ^(2/7 + 3/14) = x^(4/14 + 3/14) = x^(7/14) = x^(1/2)
