I am getting a decimal for number a any help??

y=youngest
2y=oldest
y+5=middle
y+2y+y+5=57
4y=57-5
4y=52
y=52/4=13 This the youngest
13+5=18 This is the middle child
13 x 2=26 This is the oldest child

Well divide 57 by 3 to get 19 so thats how old the oldest kid will be, next you would divde 19 by 2 to get 9.5 so the youngest kid is 9 and a half years old so the niddle child is 14 and a half years old.

I think the youngest is 12 and 1/2 the oldest is 25 and the middle is 19 and 1/2
