The slope of a line is -\frac{3}{7} and its y-intercept is (0,18). What is its x-intercept?

The x-intercept is (-18*3/7,0) = (-54/7,0).

Since the slope is -3/7, every time the y-value decreases by three, the x-value will increase by 7

If the start with a y-value of 18, you can make 6 decreases (of three each time) to get to the x-axis.

So, increase the original x-value (zero) 6 times:  6 x 7  =  42.

Therefore, the x-intercept will be (42,0)
