Hello everyone,
This question has got me blank in solving it!i dont even know how to get this to as single step!i had even asked my maths teachers many times about this but everytime what ever she said to me just went above my head and she gave the same points to solve this everytime!
So i thought to post this out here!pls make the explanation as simple as it could be!if you will explain your every single step very nicely , i'd be really greatful!So here the question on which i badly need help!
" If √0.09 * 0.9 * x = 0.9 * 0.09.√y , then find x/y "
so that was the question , pls give an extremely easy explanation!
And btw i just thought to tell u , this is from the chapter Square and Square Roots.
If √0.09 * 0.9 * x = 0.9 * 0.09.√y , then find x/y
Do you mean that your teacher did not get sqrt y on the RHS. That her answer was just a number?
Maybe this was your intended question.
$$\begin{array}{lr}
\\\sqrt{0.09 \times 0.9 \times x} = 0.9 \times 0.09\sqrt{y}\qquad then \;find \;\frac{x}{y}\qquad &\mbox{(1)} \\\\
square\; both\; sides &\mbox{(2)} \\\\
0.09\times 0.9\times x=0.9^2\times 0.09^2\times y &\mbox{(3)} \\\\
Divide\;both\;sides\;by\;0.09\times0.9 &\mbox{(4)} \\\\
x=0.9\times 0.09y &\mbox{(5)} \\\\
Divide\; both \;sides\; by \;y &\mbox{(6)} \\\\
\frac{x}{y}=0.9\times 0.09 &\mbox{(7)} \\\\
\frac{x}{y}=0.081 &\mbox{(8)}\\\\
\end{array}$$
Does that look better Rosala? See if you can tell me what line you got lost at.
And if you can tell me why. The 1st line is just the question. Make sure it is the question that you want.
$$\\
\sqrt{0.09}*0.9*x=0.9*0.09*\sqrt{y}\\\\
\sqrt{0.09}*x=0.09*\sqrt{y}\\\\
\frac{x}{\sqrt{y}}=\frac{0.09}{\sqrt{0.09}}\\\\
\frac{x}{\sqrt{y}}=\sqrt{0.09}\\\\
\frac{x}{y}=\frac{\sqrt{0.09}}{\sqrt{y}}$$
The original function isn't a linear equation, hence it is impossible to get $$\frac{x}{y}$$ on one side without having some form of x or y on the other.
Melody im still stuck and my teacher had solved it and got a proper answer aswell!

Yes Melody the answer she got is 0.81 but i just cant understand the steps at all!i am confused on your steps also!if u can help me some more then pls can u simplify the steps more!and can u pls use simple writing style instaed of Latex!that seems a lil crowded to me!
