how would you sketch a line whose equation is y=4/3x+1 using the gradient intercept method

I'm thinking this is the same as the 'slope intercept' method...here is what I would do;

When the line crosses the 'y' axis 'x' is equal to zero....so to find this 'y' value set 'x' to zero:

y= 4/3 (0) + 1 == 1     so one point to plot is  x,y =  0,1

 

Similar thing for the 'x' axis where 'y' will equal ZERO

0= 4/3 x + 1 =     x= -3/4    so the next point to plot is   x,y    =   -3/4 , 0

 

now draw a line through these points and there ya have it!
