Jackson made a 100 point test There are 29 questions Each one is either 3 or 4 points How many 4 point questions are there
Let the number of 3 point questions = x..........then......the number of 4 point questions = 29 - x and we have
Number of 3 point questons x point value each + Number of 4 point questions x point value each = total points.......so.....
x(3) + (29 - x)4 = 100 simplify
3x + 116 - 4x = 100
-1x + 116 = 100 subtract 116 from each side
-1x = -16 divide both sides by -1
x = 16 = number of 3 point questions
And (29 - x ) = (29 - 16) = 13 = number of 4 point questions
