okay so i needed to simplify:

\((c + c\sqrt{c})(c + 7\sqrt{3c})\)

i used distributive property yada yada and got:

\(c^2 + 7c\sqrt{3c} + c^2\sqrt{c} + 7c\sqrt{3c^2} \)

in the textbook, the last part is actually \(7c^2 \sqrt{3}\)

how did they get this answer?

You almost have it!

\(7c\sqrt{3c^2}\,=\,7c\sqrt3\sqrt{c^2} \,=\,7c\sqrt3\,*\,c \,=\,7c^2\sqrt3\)          smiley
