I had to simplify (2+x-x(sq))/(6+7x+x(sq)) I got it to (2+x)/(6+7x), where do I go from here?

( 2 + x - x^2) / ( 6 + 7x + x^2)   factor

[(2 - x)(1 + x)] / [(6 + x)(1 + x)] =

(2 - x) / ( 6 + x)

I believe (2+x)/(6+7x) should be your final answer, because you can't pull anything out of those numbers on both the top or bottom to be able to cancel them out.

$$\\\frac{(2+x-x^2)}{6+7x+x^2}\\\\
=\frac{-(x^2-x-2)}{x^2+7x+6}\\\\
=\frac{-(x-2)(x+1)}{(x+6)(x+1)}\\\\
=\frac{-(x-2)}{x+6}\\\\
=\frac{2-x}{x+6}\\\\$$

If you need help with that factorising then just ask how we did it and someone (maybe me or CPhill) will explain.
