the acronym people use to remember the order of operations is PEMDAS

parentheses
exponents
multiplication/division
addition/subtraction

so the first thing we'd do here is

3.5(x+10) = 3.5x + 35

then x - (3.5x + 35) = -2.5x - 35

now we multiply this by 3

3(-2.5x - 35) = -7.5x - 105

now subtract this from 1.6x

1.6x - (-7.5x - 105) = 9.1x + 105

and finally subtract this from 3

3 - (9.1x + 105) =

-9.1x - 102
