Two sides of an acute triangle measure 33 units and 65 units. Which is a possible length for the third side?
a = 33 b = 65
Side 'c' should be longer then 56 but shorter then 72.89718787
Are we really supposed to be helping you on a test??
If these two measures were the shortest sides of an acute triangle.....then the third side would have to be less than √[33^2 + 65^2 ] ≈ 72.89
But if the longest side of the triangle was 65.....the other side would have to be greater than √[65^2 - 33^2] = 56
