Roots  4 and -3 means

y =   a(x-4)(x+3)

y = a (x^2 -x -12)       when x = 3    y = -12

-12 = a (3^2 -3-12)

   -12 = a ( -6)

    a =  2

y = 2x^2 - 2x- 24
