I need help with inequalities please. I have finals soon, I got this q right on the test but now forgetting the steps. How did they get (-4,0) as the x-intercept? And how did they get (0,-1) as the y-intercept?

  1. Instead of comparison signs (<, <= etc) plug only =.
  2. Find y for x  =0. ( This is your y intercept.) Answer is (0,-1)
  3. Find x for y = 0. ( This is your x intercept.)  Answer is (-4,0)

Hope it helps. :)
