Geno has looked at all the pairs that multiply to 24

 

1 and 24

2 and 12

3 and 8

4 and 6

and they are the only possibilities.

 

Now the question goes on to ask "The smallest possible sum of these two numbers is?"

Well what are the sums of each of those pairs?

Which pair gives you the smallest sum?

 

Sum means to add the numbers together.
