PERIMETER:

 

We know all the measurements, we just need to know the line above the 12m. We see that the small figure poking out has a width of 3m. So 12m - 3m = 9m. 3m + 9m + 9m + 12m + 5m = 38m

 

AREA:

 

If the figure had no piece cut out, then the answer is 12 x 9 = 108m2. The piece that is cut out is basically 9m x 4m = 36m2.

 

108-36 = 72

 

Area = 72m2

 

Perimeter = 38m
